Moodymanc at Telefunken CHOSEN BY KRIS WASABI, DJ AT WASABI DISCO When I was asked to recommend an event, I wanted to come across all windswept and interesting and choose an exhibition or foreign film, but I’m gonna stick with what I know and recommend going to see the Edinburgh debut of rising star Moodymanc. With Edinburgh succeeding in cultural self-strangulation [see feature, page 14], it’s a huge sigh of relief to hear of this new clubbing space opening up and it seems to have some quality acts booked for the near future too. A string of well-received releases have helped the cheekily monikered producer’s reputation grow considerably. Bookings like this are also welcome after the news of the takeover of Cabaret Voltaire and the imminent loss of the Bongo Club such irony in a city that can magically find 1000+ venues during the festival. Moodymanc at Telefunken, The Annexe, Edinburgh, Fri 16 Mar. Wasabi Disco, Sneaky Pete’s, Edinburgh, Sat 17 Mar.
