We hang around here quite often. I come here because I know people here. And, when I’m in, I meet people I don’t know . . . that’s a bit deep isn't it? In fact, that’s so deep I don't even know what I said.

I just come here because it’s a good crowd the music's a bit mediocre, but it’s

still a great night.

I Bennet's at Bennet’s. 11.30pm—3am. £5. Weekly. Shaun with a commercial dance set and Annie with a blend of 70s and 80s hits. Gay.

I Club 69 at Rocksy’s Basement. 10pm—2.30am (midnight curfew). £5 (members only). Weekly. The team behind the Rub-A-Dub record shop with the deepest underground sounds. Continuing the tradition of attracting the biggest names to the curry house basement, the one and only Andy Weatherall is set to move the crowd on 8 Jul, as are the soon to be huge Detroit Grand Pubas. I Divine at Glasgow School ofArt. 10pm—2.30am. £4 (£3.50). Weekly. Regulars should make sure they head down on 15 Jul for the 10th anniversary bash. That’s right, Andy Divine and Hush Puppy have been moving the crowd with their exclusive blend of funk, bubblegum and Northern for ten years now. As usual, there’ll be a free commemorative mix tape and a glass of the sparkling stuff, plus an exhibition of posters, f‘lyers and

visuals in the gallery room. Many happy returns.

I Fruitfly at The Arches. 10.30pm—3am. £10 (£8). Monthly. Fisher & Price bang out the harder end of the house spectrum in the main room, while Martin Valentine or Stuart Barrie spin US house and garage out back. The lads are joined by Rob Di Stefano of Tribal UK fame on 15th Jul.

I Groovejet at Trash. 1 1pm-3am. £7 (£5). Weekly. Brothers Matt and Pete knock out quality house and garage in the main room, while Paul N’Jie spins R&B in room two.

I Home Cookin' at Babaza. 6pm—3am (DJs from 11pm). Free before 11pm; £5 after. Weekly. A brand new resident for the charged up Babaza kids. Naeem is joined by Stuart McCallum, regular guest at the likes of Fresh ‘n’ Funky and Rotation down in the Big Smoke, who will be flying up each and every week to spin his trademark R&B with a dash of classic disco and funk.

Making full use onang’s three rooms, you can catch Colin Gate and Dribbler in the main room with disco, New York garage and house. This one is aimed squarely at those after a spot of detoxification, since the venue is a non- smoking tea shop that looks like an opium den. The tunes, courtesy of a huge number of local DJs, are drawn from every genre under the sun as long as they’re laid-back. Drink obscure teas, play chess, give your body a rest.

I Bite Me at Glasgow Film Theatre. 6.15pm—midnight. 16 Jul only. The vampire-obsessed folk at Bite Me, Scotland’s first magazine devoted to the subject, celebrate their first birthday with a special screening of strange blood- sucking sexploitation movie Blood For Dracula, followed by more dark goings- on in the OFT bar.
