LISTINGS DAYS OUT

AYS OUT

l KELSO RAM SALES Fri 8, mam—6.30pm. Springwood Park, Kelso. Free. Last year, over 7,000 breeding rams were sold individually in the eighteen rings: one every four and a half seconds! But it is not just the spectacle of the sale that makes this atop Days Out recommendation. There’s a social side to the largest one-day ram sale in the world, held under nearly one mile of canvas. Besides the trade stands selling all kinds of country paraphernalia there is catering and the all-important beer tents. But be warned: don’t get too tipsy and go winking at that smashing Bluefaced Leicester or you might just end up taking him home with you.

This section gives details of selected events taking place in and around the central belt of Scotland this fortnight. Events are listed by area and then alphabetically. All submissions should be accompanied by a contact phone number for our information. Days out compiled by Thom Dibdin.
