GARDEN FESTIVAL
I The Festival Spread across a 120 acre site on Princes Dock. Glasgow. the Garden festival contains 6 theme parks: Health and Wellbeing; Water and Maritime; Recreation and Sport; Landscape and Scenery; Science and Technology and Plants and Food. The Festival hottsesa 240 foot viewing tower (See panel). a thrill ride. trams and trains and a huge arraon exhibitions. water activities and displays. Every day. from now until the festival ends on 26 September there will be a wide range ofevents. from street theatre to rock music. I Opening Hours The Garden Festival will be open seven days a week from I()am till 8pm (till 9pm in June and July) until 26 September. Last admission 1 hours before closing. I Tickets Garden Festival Day Tickets cost £5 (£4 for full time students. unemployed and and OAPs. £2.50 for children aged 5— In years. free for under fives). Once inside the ground everything including the train and tram rides are free. with the only additional charges being for the big dipper thrill ride. Multi-Day Tickets allow visits on any two days and cost £9 (£7 for students. unemployed and OAPs. £4 for children aged 5—16). Season Tickets allowing access at any time. cost £45 adult. £22.50 child. Discounts are also available on group bookings made in advance. I Getting There By train: Scotrail is offering special inclusive fares to the Garden Festival from most partsof Scotland. The prices of a return ticket from Edinbugh including the fare on the lowlevel train to the SECC entrance (picked up at Central Station) and admission to the Garden festival are £8.10 adults. £4 Children. £5.25 Senior Citizen Rail Card holders. £6.05 Family Rail Holders (plus £3 per child). NB These tickets are equivalent to Saver Tickets and subject to the same time restrictions. Strathclyde Transport are also offering inclusive fares which will effectively give free travel; for instance. the return fare from Ayr (including admission to the Festival) is £7.90. from Central Glasgow. return fare is £5.
