A festival opento the public which will include classes for experienced and beginners and will focus on an international flavour to dance. Director Tom Yang has organised folk dance from Nicaragua. India. Japan. and Europe taught by a group ofprofessional dancers. Music will be provided in plenty by a number of musicians. A wonderful opportunity to feel the spirit ofother cultures. SWAIVE START
Another new cabaret venue opens its doors this month. Swaive Kinooziers (that’s suave connoisseurs in the translation) open ‘Kinooziers Club' in a former warehouse in Glasgow’s Clyde Street on 7th, for three months of events. The club will be open every night Tue-Sat from Gum-1am, hosting a constant stream of music and cabaret acts, which will range from the well-known to the young hopeluls: ‘One at Swaive Kinooziers' aims is to promote new Scottish talent,’ says Judy Sweeney, managing director. The club (not a club in the sense of involving membership) houses two bars, and there will be snacks available. On Sundays it will be a place to go and be civilised. open from 11am for champagne breakfasts and 2.30pm lortea-dances.
