PHILIP MALTMAN AT THE SUTTON GALLERY The recently opened Sutton Gallery’s third exhibition is by Scottish artist Philip Maltman. Focusing on his work from the last ten years, the show’s abstract collection is inspired by a diverse range of sources including landscape, rap lyrics and the writings of James Joyce. Maltman continues to handle his objects with sensitivity, retaining elements of both lightness and fun while also delicately balancing the abstract and the symbolic.
