EDINBURGH & GLASGOW EATING& DRINKING Guide LAUNCH
O ur annual Eating & Drinking Guide was launched last month and, as ever, we threw the year’s most fabulous food bash to celebrate. Patrons of great restaurants in Edinburgh and Glasgow turned up in force to get a fi rst look at their reviews in the new Guide, and to fi nd out the winners of the Eating & Drinking Awards. In Edinburgh Mithas and Kanpai took home prizes for Best Newcomer, while Martha’s and La Famiglia received the same honours in Glasgow. The List Readers’ Award went to First Coast in Edinburgh and Two Fat Ladies at the Buttery in Glasgow. Lastly, vegetarian mainstay Henderson’s took home the Special Award.
The List would like to say thankyou to The Scottish Cafe & Restaurant who hosted the Edinburgh party on Tue 24 April, and Apartment 29 who hosted the Glasgow event the day after. The canapes the hosts provided were exceptional and the chefs were assisted by the Eating & Drinking Guide sponsor of the last four years, Birra Moretti, whose delicious beers played a part in the canape recipes. Thank you also to Louis Jadot and Villa Maria for providing the delicious wines. Lastly, thanks to all the guests who made the party such a success and to all of the restaurants who were honoured.
