Mailbox Ask Bob

Bob, As Hogmanay looms, could you give us your best hangover tip? You’re clearly a man who has enjoyed the good things in life, dare I say it a bit too much? Alan F Alan, When it comes to the hangover cure I’m a traditionalist in that I cook up a fried breakfast. I do have a slight twist in that instead of eating the breakfast I secrete it round the pockets of my winter coat and then go out for a walk. I wear nothing other than the coat and distribute the breakfast around Broughty Ferry by sidling up to passers-by and whispering what I have to offer, such as 'black pudding?' and 'did someone say potato scone?' before whipping out my wares and sending the punters away with a smile on their faces and a hot treat in their bellies. Hope that helps, Bob

BOB SERVANT, window cleaning kingpin and beneficiary of Dundee’s Cheeseburger Wars, turns Agony Uncle for The List

Bob, I gave my wife a selection of gifts for Christmas. The absolute best that Tesco had to offer and she said I shouldn’t have bothered and I had a 'lack of imagination'. What’s her problem? Tommy Craig Tommy, When you’re famous, 'lack of imagination' is something that jealous people throw at you. Among those who have accused me of having a 'lack of imagination' are a policeman, a policewoman (separate incidents), the manager of the Olympic Swimming Baths in Dundee, a policeman, a policewoman (all the one incident), and the so-called judges of the annual Animal Noises competition in Stewpot’s Bar. GRETEL EXPECTATIONS Re: Hansel and Gretel review, Platform, Glasgow (list.co.uk) I loved this production. Wonderful script, fantastic cast, brilliant set, lovely original music and just the right level of audience participation. Lots for adults to enjoy and great use of multimedia. Recommended! I’m about to start the Barnes book took forever to get from the local library (only one copy?!). I also loved There but for the and I’m glad to see it popping up on so many year-end ‘best of’ lists. THE Question

WHAT DID YOU THINK OF OUR HOT 100 TALENT LIST?

@LuckyMe Many thanks to @thelistmagazine for including us in the Hot 100. One of the few end-of-year lists we value.

@M_Middleton_UK How come I was in it last year when I didn't do anything? Yet this year I still didn't do anything but didn't make it? Eh?

@ladymunter Well done to @LUYDMagazine for getting into @thelistmagazine's Hot 100! Obvs they've made a clear error by not putting me in it though.

@grainnerules (Synergy Concerts)

Thank you @thelistmagazine for

2 THE LIST 5 Jan–2 Feb 2012

saying I'm hot. You're too nice to me <3 <3 <3

@allymccrae Thanks to @thelist magazine for making me 23rd in their Hot List 2011. I bet there are a lot of females that would disagree.

@deeselle @ladymunter

On the @thelist magazine's top 100 creative scots, I've only had a drink with 5 of them and this year I've not slept with any of them.

@glasgow

podcart Genuinely

pleased Jonnie Common got in @thelistmagazine's Hot 100.

You'd think that @thelistmagazine would regard those who've created an entire scene out of nothing as quite significant. Alas . . .

@kirstylogan Look, I've got a sidebar in @thelistmagazine's Hot 100! I should probably mention that I was so excited, I had to show the newsagent my name in the magazine. He was politely impressed. #fame

@ladymunter Optimo, Death Disco and Danananakroyd really @thelistmagazine? I thought this was about hot talent, not an obituary.

@pinupnights @ladymunter

Another year, another omission from @thelistmagazine's Hot 100! Thought our short film would have got us Hot Points! @thelistmagazine Hot 100. The not-so-definitive list of Scottish creative talent. A lot of filler, none killer.
