Pandas! (Yes us too) Edinburgh Zoo welcomes two much-anticipated furry friends Words: Anna Millar

F orget Santa, there’s only one word on everyone’s lips this festive season and that’s pandas. Sure, we would like to come over all nonchalant and cutting edge about our furry friends, but here at List HQ we’re as smitten as everyone else. Giant pandas Tian Tian and Yang Guang have arrived in the capital to suitable fanfare, after their nine-hour overnight flight from Chengdu in China.

And with the pair now settled into their new £250,000 home at Edinburgh Zoo, the public will be able to see them in situ from Fri 16 Dec, before the pair are eventually introduced to each other in February or March next year. Call ahead to pre-book a slot; price is included in entry to the zoo. See edinburghzoo.org.uk to arrange a visit.
