WIN STUFF
WIN SIGNED WE ARE SCIENTISTS ALBUMS The dynamic and continuously hilarious twosome of Chris Cain and Keith Murray have always made We Are Scientists a joy to behold; with the addition of ex-Razorlight drummer Andy Burrows, they have become a musical powerhouse. Their latest album, Barbara is a very decent listen – but we bet it sounds even better when it’s signed by the band themselves. Fancy one of five copies? See details below.
WIN COURTEENERS TICKETS
The Courteeners are one of those bands that, if you love them, you reeeally love them. And if you’re one of those fans, you’d probably leap at the chance to see them at an intimate gig on Mon 16 Aug, courtesy of the Hard Rock Café’s Absolute Sessions (taking place at George Street, Edinburgh). It’s an invite-only gig, and tickets aren’t available in the shops. It’s a good thing we’ve got two pairs of tickets to give away then, isn’t it? WIN KT TUNSTALL VINYL
Ms Tunstall has a new album, Tiger Suit, out in September; if you happen to
catch her headlining at the Edinburgh Playhouse on Sat 7 Aug, you might even get to hear a few tracks in advance. If you can’t make that date though, you’ll have to wait – unless you get your hands on one of three not-in-the-shops white label 7” singles, containing two tracks from the forthcoming album, that we just happen to have lying around. HOW TO ENTER
Log onto list.co.uk/offers. Closing date for competitions is Thu 12 Aug. There is no cash alternative. Usual List rules apply.

Fans of Sparklehorse (RIP, VIP) may care to check out Glasgow acoustic guitarist RM Hubbert’s moving cover of ‘Spirit Ditch’. Hubbert was a big Mark Linkous fan, and his RM Hubbert recording is part of a series of covers (Elliott Smith and Vic Chesnutt have also been reworked) organised by The Steinberg Principle in aid of Depression Alliance UK. This date is a solo show from Hubbert, supporting the frantic drumming charms of Dananananaykroyd. ■ Nice n Sleazy, Glasgow, Thu 5 Aug, 7.30pm, £tbc.
