Music and Assistant Editor With SCOTLAND’S LEADING ENTERTAINMENT & LIFESTYLE PUBLISHER
The List, Scotland’s leading arts and entertainments publisher is expanding the number and breadth of its activities in both print and online. We now plan to appoint one person as a Music and Assistant Editor for our leading fortnightly title, The List. We are looking for someone with in depth knowledge across a range of musical genres but particularly rock and pop. Being up-to-date with the music scenes in both Glasgow and Edinburgh is essential. Good existing music contacts are helpful.
The Music Editor must have a signifi cant amount of editorial experience, and must have shown fl air and expertise in a previous role. Commissioning and editing work and managing a small team of writers will be part of the role, as will writing. The Music Editor must show fl uency and a discerning voice in all of the copy they produce, even under the pressure of tight deadlines.
The role comprises an Assistant Editor position, for which we are seeking someone who can contribute to the magazine as a whole and respond to the Editor’s requests to work across a range of areas, carefully managing their time between different responsibilities. The role will demand high levels of tenacity and resourcefulness, competency across several areas of print and digital publishing, good knowledge of the arts in general and an ability to work quickly and effectively under pressure. In particular, a good grasp of how integrated print and digital publishing processes work will be needed as The List continues its expansion as the leading destination for digital arts and entertainments information in Scotland alongside its print developments.
