inaugural Sounds Film Festival. With a locations spread across the city from the West lind to the city centre AB(‘. the progratnme of events includes 1 l screenings and a string of live tnusic performances.
()pening night festivities kick off with two documentaries: one Scottish. one Danish W both providing alterative takes on the Glasgow music scene. The world premiere of full-length documentary [fa/lads oft/1c Bonk. gives a unique account of the project where a collection of Scottish music and writing talent collaborated to create an album.
()ther screenings include the documentary on 1960s London. 'Iimiglit Lot's All Make Love III Lam/(HI. The Hurt/('1' 'l'lit’y ('(mlt'. and Johnny ('us/I.‘ Christmas In Scotland. a unique television special set in Scotland.
In addition. the festival showcases a selection of shorts curated by (ilasgow's independent filtn night Magic Lantern. including the Oscar—nominated film Snow. Events will come to a close with a surprise movie.

Across town. and in venues across the country. the Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film Festival also launched their programme. which includes live music. visual art. comedy. theatre performances and talks. KT TUNSTALL recently got hitched to drummer from her backing band, Luke Bullen. The ceremony took place in Portree, on the Isle of Skye. Tunstall’s big day follows her appearance at some of Europe's biggest music festivals this

WHILE THE FUTURE of some low cost airlines may be looking bleak, regional airline Flybe have announced plans to expand their services, including routes to Paris and Dusseldorf. The airline recently set up routes out of Aberdeen and Gatwick.

WORD OF THE DAY
I The submission deadline for the Days Like This initiative has now been set for 1 Nov. The project, which aims to showcase the tales of people living in Scotland, already has the support of Irvine Welsh and Idlewild frontman Roddy Woomble. Anyone can send a story and submissions should be no longer than 1,000 words. All stories will appear on the BBC website.
