Cover story: Paolo Nutini
Singer/songwriters are ten a penny these days, and with James Morrison, James Blunt and a whole raft of other crooning Jameses clogging up the charts with their plaintive cannae-get-a-bird warbles, you need that special something to set you apart from the pack. 19-year-old Paolo Nutini has that special something. He is in possession of a voice so smoky you could barbecue steaks over it. His debut album These Streets has shifted 100,000 copies in six weeks but he remains remarkably sane about all the hyperbole surrounding him. We reckon he will be more than able to handle the rigors of mega stardom. Certainly he seemed a down-to-earth sort when we met him in his home town of Paisley. Our feature starts on page 89.
