1 Like Pepperami, he's a bit of an animal Well. he's not. actually. but the LA-based lo-fi singer songwriter IS really good pals wrth the Animal Collective. the NYC— based experimental pop outfit who have championed him from the outset.
2 He’s into DlY2 Pink. real name Ariel Marcus Rosenberg. records all his music in his apartment. playing all the instruments and producmg himself. He produces drum sounds with his mouth. It's the ultimate in lo—li DIY musicranship.
3 He’s prolific as hell He's had half a dozen albums released proberly. but has also had over two dozen limited cassette releases over the last ten years. Plus he's got something like 200 (yes. really) unreleased albums sitting around his house. The boy likes to make music. and plenty of it.
4 He’s officially weird Pink IS oft referred to as part of the New Weird America movement. a tag which covers lelttield folk-influenced artists such as Devendra Banhart and Joanna Newsom. although his style is much more pop-influenced than that.
5 He's grotesque We're not talking about his personal appearance. you understand. rather his art.
