Cover story: Radiance
As if the abundance of crazy Christmas lights wasn’t enough, the streets of Glasgow will be bathed in mauve, pink, orange and green neon light throughout the final weekend of November. It’s all part of Radiance, Britain’s first major Festival of Light, an initiative that has seen the City Council sink several hundred thousand pounds into a large-scale version of those light therapy machines for sufferers of SAD. But this project is much more than just a feast for the eyes: it brings together some of the most interesting new art that has been seen around Europe over the past couple of years. And music too. See feature, page 16.
20 Antony and the Johnsons If you've heard the first lines of the opening song on his new album, you'll know why people are making a fuss about this torch song trannie. But what lies behind the weirdness?
