I New must-see for lovers of literature. Loch Katrine, one of the most picturesque lochs in the heart of the Trossachs area. is the setting for The Underground City by classic French novelist Jules Verne. Now, the novel is being published in English for the first time by Edinburgh-based Luath Press to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the author's death. The new edition reinstates many of Veme's passages on the nature of the landscape around the Trossachs and Loch Lomond areas which were omitted from the previous translation.
I Result for watersports enthusiasts. A north east Scotland fishing community is set to host one of the UK‘s premier water sports competitions. Fraserburgh has been chosen by the British Kite Surfing Association (BKSA) to host the new Scottish leg of its annual British championships. I The Belfast Visitor and Convention Bureau has announced that 5.9m visitors came to Belfast in 2004, an increase of 11% on the previous year. As visitors near the 6m mark, the level of success attained by BVCB and its partners in the marketing and positive image building of the city is becoming clearer than ever. Coupled with the addition of new air routes, the promotion of Belfast has resulted in a 100% growth in overnight visitors in just five years.
