This is one of 14 silk-screened prints in a series called Launderette, documenting a day in the life of a launderette. The characters in the works use the launderette either for a functional service or as a retreat from the outside world. Pring conveys a feeling of slowness and waiting, anonymity, dreariness and human comfort. The prints are part of a group show of Edinburgh-based contemporary artists featuring illustration, portraiture, painting and drawing, curated by former art editor of The List, Helen Monaghan.
