BRITISH SEA POWER
With bands like Franz Ferdinand and Art Brut on the ascent to superstardom, art rock is the term on everyone’s tips for 2004. Yet, this Brighton five-piece were doling out infectiously rhythmic and wiry guitar- fuelled music, donning army uniforms, singing the praises of Czech literature and deploying the use of plastic bird decoys on stage since early last year when they released their highly-hyped debut The Decline of British Sea Power. Now the band are set to continue their assault on the mainstream with some brand spanking new material which, now that it is utterly in vogue, should see them take their rightful place at the top
of the pack. (Camilla Pia)
