If you thought all the festivals were over for the year then you were very wrong. Frock 0n! is a one-day event which plans to celebrate the creativity and expression of women. But rather than the dungaree-wearing. mung bean-chewing day that you might imagine, this is a day of bands, zines, films and workshops that is further away from a pair of Birkenstocks than
you could imagine.
It all kicks off at 11am with workshops and discussions on art and politics, indymedia and a writers‘ workshop, and it also tackles the ever present matter of sizeism for women as well as green issues and the environment. Alongside the workshops there will be an all-day clothes swap - just because they're second hand doesn't mean to say they won’t be good - and a mix tape swap: stick your favourite tracks on a tape and swap it with someone else. Even if you don’t like what you get, at least somebody else is getting to hear your good stuff. There will also be a free Green City lunch to keep your strength up.
The event continues into the evening when it moves onto Nice'n'Sleazy for a night of live music. Boys are allowed to join in and hear a mix of digital, electro pop-punk and dance rock squeal from We Start Fires, the
