Facing the Light: David Octavius Hill and Robert Adamson 1'ntil Sun 15 Sep. The focal point of a series of exhibitions celebrating the bicentenary of DO Hill. For the Festival. organised by Scottish Society for the History of Photography. Hiring The Ugh! features 200 of Hill and Adamson's most famous images drawn from the Scottish National Photography Collection. held at the Portrait Gallery. The Perth-born artist and illustrator David ()ctavius Hill
( 1802—1870) and Robert Adamson (1821—18-18) were the first to realise the artistic possibilities of photography and the exhibition features a number of original negatives that have been printed for the first time.
Scots in Film: Portraits by Donald MacLellan t'ntil Sun 13
Oct. Around 30 works by leading portrait photographer. Donald MacLellan whose first exhibition Black vaw‘ was shown at the National Portrait Gallery in London in 1998. For this exhibition. MacLellan has turned his lens on Scottish film stars. snapping Robbie Coltrane. Alan Cumming. Tilda Swinton. Billy Connolly. Robert Carlyle. Dougray Scott and many others.
