end. is a massive car boot sale/market where tons of second—hand bargains can be found. A day can easily be spent raking ar0und here. After managing to procure a pile of Madonna LPs for 10p each. I can only describe this place as amazing.
On the charity shop front. the Salvation Army Store on Dumbarton Road reigns king. Not so much a shop as a warehouse. with a backroom of sturdy second-hand quality furniture at unbelievable prices. while the front of the store is packed full of clothes and bric-a-brac. Unlike a lot of charity shops. this one continues to be outrageously cheap. Where else could you buy a table and six chairs for £50 — come on? What a bargaum
Getting genuine bargains. however, isn't always as easy as it s0unds. By heading along early to any markets or car boot sales. you automatically increase the chance of getting anything half way decent. as most places pack up around 4pm. Be sure to ask for any electrical items to be tested in front of you when possible if buying second-hand goods. to ensure you're not buying anything faulty. Always act a bit nonchalant when asking for a price. otherwrse they might bump it up. And don‘t be afraid to haggle: it's part of the fun.
The thrill of buying something at a fraction of the price it would usually cost is indescribable. EspeCially when it comes to clothes and furnishings. you have the satisfaction of knowing that yOu've bought something that little bit mOre exclusive and rare. not over—priced run-of-the-mill high street fodder. making the hours of relentless raking through rubbish all worthwhile.
