SCOTTISH OPERA - lL TROVATORE
A trip to California might be nice, especially to hear baritone Richard Zeller sing Count di Luna in Verdi’s ll Trovatore with San Diego Opera. But you can always save on the fare and instead of going that far, you can catch him with Scottish Opera as this season he also takes on the challenging role in the forthcoming revival of their 1992 production. This is grand opera in classic form — love, death, murder, intrigue et al in notoriously complicated action - with well known melodic treasures including the ‘Anvil Chorus’ and the gypsy inspired ‘Stride la vampa’.
