The Arc ibald Campbell and Harley WS Photography Prize Until Sat 27 Jan. An exhibition bringing together the work of eight Scottish artists shortlisted for the Archibald Campbell and Harley WS Photography Prize. A collaboration between the Scottish Arts Council, Archibald Campbell and Harley WS and Stills, a cash prize of £5,000 will be award annually over the next three years to a Scottish-based photographer. Lucy Orta: Refuge Wear Until Sat 16 Dec. British~born artist Lucy Orta, now based in Paris presents an exhibition of her unique clothing wear. The artist/ designer deals with issues of homelessness, creating outdoor clothing which doubles up as refuge shelters. See review.

East Of Eden Until Sat 2 Dec. Scotland’s only mobile art gallery goes on tour with a new exhibition of work by Paul Carter and Kate Gray. Exploring notions of the search for
identity and meaning, Gray creates large photographs displayed in light boxes and kinetic video sculptures, and Carter constructs an installation including an extraterrestrial radio-scanner and a camera surveillance of the sky. The Gallery finishes its tour in Edinburgh stopping off at The Dean Gallery (Thu 30 Dec); The City Art Centre (Fri 1 Dec) and Our Dynamic Earth (Sat 2 Dec).

Black And White - Ageing In Cultural Diversity Until mid Feb. Age Concern Scotland‘s photography project was developed to recognise that images of older people in Scotland must reflect the cultural diversity of our society. Photographers Anthony Bayliss, Jon- Paul Davis, Mick Lange and Annie Park spent months with the older people taking snapshots of their daily lives. Source Until Sun 7 Jan. New work by over twenty Scottish applied artists has been created as a response to objects found in Scottish Museums. Ranging from metalwork to ceramics, the exhibition featuresjewellery by Dorothy l-iogg, new glass work by Deborah Fladgate and costumes by Suzanne Langston Jones.
From Lahore To Lesmahagow: The Story OfA Sikh Laird Until Sun 18 Feb. The National Museums has commissioned the Sikh artists and twin sisters Rabindra and Amrit Kaur Singh to create six miniature paintings which will be on display in the Royal Museum.
