After her husband's death. the eponymous Bernarda locks the doors and windows against the world and imposes a strict period of mourning on her daughters. Linder the shadow of the church and the rules of society. the women conflict and spiral into emotional chaos.

Always Patsy Cline 'I‘tte 26—Sat 30 Sep. 7.30pm (Wed ck Sat mat 2.30pm). £S.50-£15 (£6.50—£12). In the pre- stalking days of old. a country music fan named Louise humped into her idol Patsy Cline, and the two women struck up a friendship which was to last until Cline‘s untimely demise in 1963. This is their story. and needless to say it‘s peppered throughout by some of the country legend‘s greatest hits.

The brutal murder of a young Catholic man in Arrnagh three years ago, and the subsequent murder of human rights lawyer Rosemary Nelson two years later fortn the basis for this new political drama. Devised by the Theatre Workshop‘s new integrated company, Portadown Blues takes a look at sectarianism in both Northern Ireland and Scotland and questions a society which can let these crimes go unpunished.

Another chance to see Artistic Director Robert North‘s version of the classic love story. The battle between the vibrant sets, colourful costumes and I’rokofiev‘s original score may cloud the action at times, but ultimately he does Shakespeare proud.
