The best clubs this fortnight
Colours Another whopping slice of house-trance shenanigans from the Colours massive. This time, the ressies are joined by trance god Steve Lawler and the venerable Graeme Park, who actually Wed at the Queen Mum’s christening (as well as The Hacienda), thus bringing house music to the UK. The highlight, though, is a marathon five-hour chunk of progressive thumping from his holiness John Digweed (pictured). The Arches, Sat 72 Aug.
LI.V.E. Club promoters often forget that the kids can, usually, see as well as hear. Not this lot, though, who are providing a taster of their forthcoming residency at the Art School: along with dirty drum & bass from a brace of jocks and a live outing for Morphy, the Noplex collective will be mashing up a scary visual feast of time-based artistry to sate the senses. Tangent Love Boat Party Mucking about on floating venues seems to be the thing to do this week. Tangent celebrate SIX years entertaining the house devotees of Glasgow with a magical mystery tour to an undisclosed floating location, where they will doubtless rock, erm, the boat with their special brand of near-house. Electric Bogey The Jengaheads’ break and beat showcase seems to be going from strength to strength, and their latest guest should keep up the momentum.
