Eye Candy continues to feed Edinburgh’s demand for great big glam house nights, with residents Graeme Popstar and Nejat Barton. The ‘no effort, no chance’ dress code doesn’t seem to be scaring them awa ' either.
I Fiesta Latina at Teviot Row Union. 9.30pm—3am. £4.50 (£3.50). 24 Jun. Monthly. DJ Pancho lays on the Hispanic beats at Edinburgh’s longest running Latin night.

I Futuristica at Club Java. 9pm—2am. £7. 24 Jun only. Another one-off for Futuristica, this time on the shores of sunny Leith with special guest Chris 0055 of Hospital Records. He’ll be promoting their new album Outpatients LP which, handily enough, features resident Joseph Malik on a track called ‘Music Makes Me Feel This Way’.

I Joy at Wilkie House. 10.30pm-3am. £10 (£7). 24 Jun. Monthly. Hard house and trance from the experts (well, they’ve had almost seven years to practise their craft) Alan and Maggie Joy at this busy, sweaty, gay-friendly night. Backroom grooves come from Sally Findlay and Trendy Wendy.

With Jungle Magic holding a place only second to Manga’s in the hearts of Scotland’s jungle and drum & bass fans, what better way to cement the alliance than with a guest slot from Manga’s-The General. He joins stalwart residents DJ Kid and Tania Swift.

I Latin Explosion at The Cavendish. 10pm—3am. £5. Weekly. A night for lovers of all things Latin from Salsa Connections, with top tunes and totally tropical dancefloor action.

- I am Harry Ainsworth, nice to see you this evening. Nice hair today . . . not like your last cut, that was very Moloko.
— We’re here in the lovely Snatch Club, or the ’Burgh Baws' as we like to call it. It’s like Butlins but it was set up by the lovely Colonel Snatch, who is very busy at the moment doing things with donkeys.
— Here at the Snatch Club we’ve got a bit of a mixture maxture . . . we’ve got some fat lad who comes on and DJs,
and I do bits and bobs at the start of the
evening. I do like a bit of hip hop and
some classic modern tunes, but not a lot
— I’m more into those classic 805 tunes . . . Kenny Rogers being a particular favourite.
- We don't have a particular punter here
. . . we see all walks of life. We've had a lot of artists actually, yes, a few parties for the British Art Show, absolutely lovely. One in particular — yes, I think his name is the Ginger Prince — all the way from The Botanics. We get a lot of students, and people who live on

housing estates — it’s lovely to see those kinds of people out enjoying themselves. And of course, the beer is only £1 a drink, so they can get arsed. But I don‘t pay
for my drink, being the talent of the night.
-I love working with the great talent of Barry Peters from Hospital Radio. He's a
lovely man, a terrific bloke, lovely hands . . .
