Described as a game, an art installation and a performance, this interactive event uses computer software projected onto a wall of water spray to create a 30 minute journey through a multitude of virtual spaces. The Real Wild West Sat 24 Jun. 8pm. £8.95 (£5). A Mull Theatre production looking at the highs and lows of the West Coast of Scotland over the past 2000 years. Rhapsody In Stephen's Green Wed 28 Jun-Sat 1 Jul. 8pm. £6.95-£8.95 (£3.50—£5). All tickets £3 on Wed 28 Jun. Written in 1943 by Dubliner Flann O’Brien, this work disappeared for over 50 years, and was only recently unearthed. Directed by Andy Arnold, and performed by Final Year Acting Students of the RSAMD, the play satiriscs a range of stereotypical Irish characters by casting them as small-minded invertebrates such as ants and dung- beetles. First up is The Pilgrimage, Liverpudlian playwright Paul Goetzee’s allegorical fable about hatred, friendship and the futility of religion; followed by This Here Now, penned by nineteen-year-old LYT member Tim Primrose, capturing the preparation, execution and aftermath of a teenage party. Briony McRoberts and David Robb star in Bernard Slade’s Californian comedy about a couple who meet up once a year behind their spouses backs. Joining them at various points during their lives, the play gives an insight into the changing climate of 19505, 605 and 705 America. If the storyline sounds familiar, Slade’s play was also turned into a cracking film starring Alan Alda and Ellen Burstyn. See preview.

Highlights of the fortnight
Same Time Next Year David Robb directs himself in this two-hander with spouse Briony McRoberts. Cheerfully unpretentious and entertaining, the play tells the story of a 25-year illicit relationship between an accountant and an upwardly-mobile working-class woman. Played against the background of the US from 1950 to 1975, the piece also reflects upon a turbulent period of American history. Edinburgh: Royal Lyceum, Fri 30 Jun-Sat 29 Jul.
Desert Rain Blast Theory present a piece which is neither fully theatre nor installation. Involving technology and interaction, it's liable to reformulate your thinking about its subject matter, the Gulf War. A fascinating experiment in performance. Glasgow: Tramway, Thu 29 Jun-Sat 8 Jul.
