I Virunga at Brel. 9pm—midnight. Free. Weekly. A top selection of tunes with a world bias, including soca, Latin dance, African and reggae.

I 1210 at Babaza. 8pm-3am. £4 (£3). Weekly. Top-notch house, garage and trance from Ian Thompson and David Gilmore, renowned for keeping the crowd on their toes and dropping the odd surprise track. In a bid to encourage new talent. the residents step down between 8—1 1pm. turning over the Technics to up- and-coming DJs. Call the club on 204 0101 for details of how to participate.
I Bennet's at Bennet‘s. llpm—3am. £3 (£2). Weekly. Shawn delivers a commercial dance mix in the main room, while Annie supplies 70s and 80s hits at this gay club.

I Dazed & Confused at Oudos (Queen Margaret Student Union). 7.30pm-2am. £2 (£1)— students and up to four guests. Weekly. Live music every week from aspiring local talent until around 10.30pm, when the residents take over, spinning a retro set encompassing funk, soundtracks and indie classics.
I Freedom at The Shed. l()pm—3am. £3 (£2). Weekly. Paul N’Jie with a smooth mix of garage, funk and commercial house.
I Foundation at Q. 9pm—3am. Free before 11pm, £5 after. Weekly. Ewan Kelly with funky disco and soulful garage at this brand new venue.
I Loose Joints at The 13th Note Club. llpm-3am. £2. Weekly . Residents LB. and DO have shifted the old Booty Jam up a gear with a new concept night, just like a 705 album. The concept being to play a broad mix of dancefloor classics, without overdoing the turntable technique, concentrating on the songs themselves. Is this the first sign of a mixing backlash?
I Pimp at Planet Peach. llpm-3am. £4. Weekly. Steve Gaston pumps out the funkiest disco and lightens the blend with the occasional kitsch classic.
I Go Bang at Reds. l 1pm—3am. £3. Weekly. GK Machine, Glenn C, Jay Hay and Guy spin a varied techno selection. I Hi Karate at The Glasgow School of Art. l()pm—2am. Free before 11pm; £1.50 (£1) after. Weekly. Andrew Divine and Neil McMillan are in the midst of something of a guest frenzy at present. First of all, after the St. Etienne gig has finished on 25 May, the Karateers are joined by Ultimate Dilemma recording stars The Runaways on four decks, with MC Marshmello chatting over the top. Then, on 8 Jun, The Tummy Touch Tour hits Glasgow, with Tim ‘L.ove’ Lee and labelmates Tutto Matto bringing their trademark dubby, bongo-laden breakbeat to the mix.

Live guests at this launch event are Shooglenifty, who managed to provoke the Sydney Opera House's first ever stage invasion, apparently. Weekly. Party tunes, pop and indie faves for students and the like-minded. I Wired at Destiny. l()pm—3am. £2 before 11pm; £3 after. Weekly. Casual night at the wrought-iron exhibition-cum- elub, with a new name to match the dancier music policy. This is the only time when denim and trainers are acceptable apparel here, so you don’t have to iron your Ben Sherman.
