If you were to explain to your mum what you do, what would you say? I produce and play music that makes people dance.
Describe your own musical style: Funky, soulful dance music wrth influences from hip hop, Latin, techno and drum 'n' bass.
What are you working on now? Finishing off my debut album for Sony and remixing Prince’s '1999’.
Did you have any other career aspirations? Initially, I wanted to draw cartoons, then design buildings, and afterwards breakdance for a liVing
Who knows you best and why? My mom and my manager Karen L. They have both seen me in the morning after a long sessmn or gig With my hair messed up, and they still love me. Have you ever been stalked? Yes, by an ex-girlfriend.
What was the first record you bought and where? 'The Chocolate Train’ at age eight at a local record shop in Queens, NY.
What do you have in your pockets at the moment? My hands.
If you were to say you had one vice, what would it be? White chocolate. What is your favourite smell and why? Vanilla: it reminds me of being a young boy and going shopping for sweets with my dad.
If a statue was built of you where would it stand? On its head.
When was the last time you threw your hands in the air and waved them like you just didn't care? Trying to hail a cab during rush hour last week.
Do you have an easy life? Not really, I have too many responsibilities and not enough play time.
What gets your goat? People smoking at the dinner table or at airports.
Are you any good in a fight? Yes. What can we get you at the bar? A Coke (I don't really drink), but if I do, Dom Perignon champagne.
