Sir John Lavery: The Ir sh Glasgow Boy Fri 24 Oct—25 Jan 1998. A long overdue exhibition of work by Sir John Lavery. closely associated with the group of young artists known as The Glasgow Boys. who revolutionised Scottish painting in the 1880s and 90s. Featured in the show are twenty paintings from the city‘s collection and 27 on loan from Ulster Museum. as well as his famous portrait of Queen Victoria.
