The Battles of Culloden and Rorkes Drift will be recreated lll miniature when hundreds of model soldiers get stuck in to each other in Scotland's biggest wargames exhibition. The show features displays of games rising model soldiers from wars throughout history as well as fantasy wargames based on novels such as the Lord 0/ The Rings. Many displays will be public participation games allowing visitors to smell the blood themselves. There will also be a number of trade stands selling books and models and a bring and buy stall. The event is being run by the South East Scotland Wargames Club in aid of the charities Children lst and the Scottish National Institution for the War Blinded. For those untamiliar with the Vogrie Festival, it is an annual feast of dance, music, puppetry, displays, cratt, stalls and children’s entertainment attracting thousands of visitors each year. There has been a large house at Vogrie tor several centuries but the present one dating from the 19th century has been restored and a nine-hole golf course has been created within its grounds. Over the past fifteen years, the Vogrie Estate has been developed as a country park while an extended adventure play area and equipment has been installed to provide the largest lacillty of its type in Lothian. This year’s shenanigans kick-oft at 11am and features Scotland's rugby captain llob Wainwright, celtlc rockers Burach and the Golden Lions Free Fall
