Strathclyde Gay and Lesbian Switchboard and the Glasgow Gay and Lesbian Centre Project seek to recruit the following staff to promote the services provided to the gay and lesbian community in the west of Scotland.


The posts, which are part time, are being funded by Strathclyde Regional Council and are offered on a one year contract basis in the first instance.

The closing date for both posts is 24 October 1994.


Switchboard requires a motivated self starter with experience of working with volunteers and committed to lesbian and gay issues. Duties include liaison with external bodies to secure funding, devising training and development plans, administration and promoting women's issues. Weekend and irregular working hours will be involved.

GLC requires a worker committed to lesbian and gay community development who will show initiative and drive. She/he will be able to work on GLC related issues independently and also display expertise in team work. Administrative tasks associated with the centre and the ability to liaise with local government and other agencies on behalf of the Centre will be part of the remit.
