Raphael: The Pursuit of Perfection Until 10 July. An examination of this artist‘s immense vision and skill with the hanging of three paintings: Brit/geit'att'r Madonna, Holy Family with a Palm Tree and Madonna (lel Passe‘rggiu plus twenty preparatory drawings. Recent cleaning supplied information about how the paintings were produced and this gives a fascinating insight into his creative process with work by his assistants and followers also shedding light on his huge influence.

John Adamson. invented the calotype photographic printing process. Since then, the city has produced a number of photographers who have all captured something of Scottish life. This show features photography from the last 100 years by Scottish pioneers such as Hill and Adamson. as well as work from 20th century photographers such as James Valentine who built up a
postcard industry in Dundee. George Cowie and Robert Moyes Adam. All images are taken frotn St Andrews Univerity's collection.

The gallery has recently purchased Alexander Stoddart‘s larger-than-life bust of Henry Moore. Medardo Basso: Impressionist Sculptor Until 26 Jun. £2 (£1). This is the first major exhibition of this ltalian sculptor‘s work to be held in Britain and these 48 works in wax. plaster and bronze show why he is regarded as one of the precursors of the modern movement. Capturing a subtle sense of movement or a fleeting impression. his studies ripple with light and shadow and his subjects seem almost to dissolve into their surrounding space.
