I Rhythms Of The World: Manu Dibango (BBCZ) 8—9pm. A profile of the Cameroon-bom musician who has lived in liurope for 40 years as an ambassador for African music.
I The Best Of Cutting Edge: liepomen (Channel 4) 8—9pm. The blackly comic and disturbing report on ‘repossession agent’ Ian Hood anti his sidekicks ‘Big Boy‘ and ‘Rover'. finding little room for compassion in the midst of a recession.
I The Wexlord Trilogy: A Handful Of Stars. (BBCZ) 9—10.25pm. The second of Billy Roche's Wexford plays. focusing on the men who frequent the Poker and Pool Hall.
I The Big One (Channel 4) 10.05—10.35pm. A repeat run of the Sandi Toksvig and Mike McShane romantic comedy about a fastidious American writer and a slovenly copywriter.
I Teenage Diaries: Bad Sax Guide (BBCZ) l0.25—l 1.15pm. 13-year-old Polly clashed with teachers and pupils at her comprehensive school. Now she is attending classes at a hospital where her father works. but struggling with the rules that go with the one-to-one tuition.
I Manhunter (BBCZ) 11.15pm— l. 10am. The first film made from at Thomas Harris novel is a less flamboyant affair than The Silence Of'l'lie [JUN/)8. with Brian Cox a more subdued Hannibal Lecter than Anthony Hopkins. That said. it's a distinctly gritty serial killer thriller with a cerebral edge that the blockbuster lacked.

I The Real World (Channel 4) 6-6.30pm. The fly-on-the-wall documentary following the lives of seven young Americans aged between 1‘) and 25 who have been accommodated by the TV crew in a luxury New York loft and told to get on with their lives.
I Strathblair (BBC 1) 7.50—8.40pm. More rural traumas and quivering emotions in BBC Scotland's 50s drama serial. with Derek Riddell. Francesca Hunt. David Robb and Alison Peebles.
I To Be Or Not To Be (Channel 4) 8.30—l().3()pm. Mel Brooks stars in the 1983 remake of the black comedy about a Polish theatre troupe trying to outwit the occupying Nazi forces. A witty revamp of an excellent original. only slightly undermined by the cartoon Germans.

I Frank Stubbs Promotes (Scottish) 9—l()pm. A comedy drama written by Simon Nye of Men Behaving Badly fame. starring Timothy Spall as lovable ticket tout and fly-boy entrepreneur Frank.

I Pacitic Station (Channel 4) 8.30—9pm. The sitcom starring Robert Benson Guillaume as the grizzled by-the-book cop teamed up with hippy dippy partner Richard Libertini. whose unorthodox approach reaps dividends.

I Out There (Scottish) 7—7.30pm. Repeated arts documentary featuring the Glasgow Print Studio celebrating its 2lst anniversary.
I Soldier Soldier (Scottish) 9-10pm. The servicemen drama with its mixture of misfits or stereotypes and its melodramatic storylines.
I Cal (Channel 4) 10.30pm—12.25am. Bernard McLaverty‘s tale of a sensitive sort (John Lynch) who falls in love with the local librarian (Helen Mirren). Things are complicated by the fact that he was indirectly involved in the murder of her husband. Strong acting in a tortured story of guilt and the human tragedy behind partisan warfare.
