Sat at 11pm; food served all day. Opened at the end oflast year. Maison Hector is the most striking addition to the area‘s eating and drinking possibilities. Self-consciously stylish. this restaurant and tea bar is full ofweird and wonderful fittings — geometric chairs in purple plush. a mirrored wall ofwater in the gents. Not surprisingly. the bar area fills up with very young trendies in the evenings. but during the day it appeals to a more varied group. and the management make a point of preserving the separateness of the dining area at all times. The seriousness with which food is taken here was recently recognised by a ‘Restaurant ofthe Year‘ award. Expect an imaginative. eclectic menu offering snacks and the full works.
