Otto Dix: The Dresden Collection oi Works on Paper Until Sun 10 May. £2 (£1). One half of a collaborative celebration to mark the centenary ofthe birth of Otto Dix— Germany's best known 201h century realist painter. declared a ‘degenerate‘ under the Nazi regime. While the Tate Gallery in London shows his paintings. the SNGMA concentrates on Dix as draughtsman. with watercolours,
drawings. gouaches and prints from all phases of his career. Both exhibitions are organised by Keith Hartley. Assistant Keeper at the SNGMA.
Edward Baird 1904-1949 Until Sun 17 May. Selected works by a little-known Scottish painter notable for the almost photographic attention to detail of his paintings and for a style that verges on Surrealism.
