CAFE LOCO
Going Loco down in . . . Glasgow. Well, it may not rhyme, but Loco is the name oi a couple at clubs that will be taking over The Arches every weekend beginning 10 Apr. Friday nights will
. operate underthe Club Loco banner
and be a showcase lor the the talents oi
' the Slam Crew, so you can expect the
usual high standard oi dance music. However, by virtue at its unique aims, Saturday’s Cale Loco looks the more interesting. Cale Loco will be attempting to lure back those clubbers who lost interest in clubbing with the advent ol raves and ecstasy. The music policy is simple -world, Latin and garage as well as anything lrom Barry White through to Pet Shop Boys. Things start getting complicated, though, when you considerthe other delights Cate Loco will have to otter. Organisers are remaining light-tipped but expect ‘bizarre acts, special guest bands and even an ex-Archaos ringmaster‘.
So lar, bands booked to play are Gods
Di Glam, Latino Bambinos and Zhule Le Chute but organisers stress live bands will play only a small part in the iloorshow that aims to bring a theatrical leel to the proceedings. With plans afoot to enable you to reserve tables, it looks like the Cale Loco package will be as welcome and interesting as it is intriguing. (James Haliburlon)
Slam at Club Loco opens on 10 Apr and Cale Loco opens on 11 Apr. Both clubs run weekly and lrom 11pm-3.30am.
