Sixties Northern soul. ska and garage. in the weirdest venue in town. complete with authentic target on the ceiling and that ‘Ready Steady Go‘ audience atmosphere — why not try going back in time‘.’ Also. now one of the clubs the stars go to — well. Teenage Fanclub anyway.

I The Slow Club at the Apollo. 8pm—midnight. Free. Fri 27 only. Mooted as a pre-club club. playing slow music (hence the name. pop pickers!) ofall types. What. like quite slow, very slow and a bit on the slow side'.’ Anyway Massive Attack make an appearance on the playlist. so we're happy.

I Club Mandela at Clyde Hall. 8pm—2am. £4/£2. 4 Apr only. Note the rather plush new venue for the monthly ska/reggae/ African music night run by Anti-Apartheid. Bound to be busy and with a good atmosphere — guests are Capone and the Bullets.
I Code 6 at Circa. 10pm—3.30am. £7/£5 members. Steven Sleepman. The Orb. Scott and Boydie hit Circa with a non-rave. upfront dance night

I Divine at the Art School. 11pm—2.30am.
£2.50. Probably one of the most happening places to be in Glasgow at the moment (well. we go there and so do Teenage Fanclub). The entry price covers not only the very busy psychedelic/ garage/soul/Sixties club. Divine. in the Vic Bar. but upstairs as well. which alternates weekly between Tankin‘ (indie. soul and pop. 4 Apr) and Neighbourhood (jazz. funk. hip hop and dub. 28 Mar).
