And why. after three American independent albums. Sony have just taken the risk of signing this unconventional trio? Perhaps it's their heart-stopping live sets. the rare human warmth of the band. the way they graft styles together into something that‘s uniquely their own. or even Mike Watt's beard. cigarand unflappable cool. Seek some kind oforder in the wild. sort-of—folk combo Pure Blind Panic. the rap/ragamuffin Zulu Syndicate (who will be unveiling their five-piece live band tonight) and MacUmba (a combination of Afro-Latin rhythms. street theatre and juggling) —or alternatively just give in and start dancing. All parties involved hope that the event will encourage the ‘already emerging‘ cross-cultural scene in Edinburgh.
