I Boom Boom Club Calton Studios. 10.30pm—4am. £5. Probably 12 Jan only- you are advised to check with venue. An unknown quantity, but involving upfront dance music. Could be the place to show off that Fila T-shirt you got for Christmas. I Ketch Shady Lady‘s. llpm—3am. £2. Indie, indie and yet more indie music, attracting a motley assortment of mop-top student types.

members. Scotland’s only regular world music club, and as such, worth a visit. Sir Ossie on the wheels of steel mixes the best in African dance with calypso and soca around the world stylee.

l 1pm—4am. £2. The Dream Team are no more, but DJ 5 Bootsy and Gregor continue with a dance night in their own inimitable style. Gone is the house , the soul . . . in its place is 705 disco and funk. Luurrrve it.
I North The Mission. 10.30pm-3am. £3(£2.50). Everything starts with an M at this indie-dance club which plays the sort of music originating somewhere in the North, surprisingly enough. Go and scuff your Timberlands to the Mondays, Roses, Charlatans..lames, Farm . . . get theidea? I Bubble Shady Lady's. 11pm—3am. £2.50(£2). Restarts 9 Jan. A new night from two new DJs. playing ‘classic rock ‘n‘ roll front three decades‘. Roughly translated this means 505. 605 and 705 stuff — Hendrix, Cochrane eral. Might prove interesting— certainly the city has nothing of this nature running at the moment.

who will be plying their inimitable blend of dance music to the usual huge and heaving crowd. One of the most enjoyable nights on the go at the moment, without adoubt. I Atomic hl-HBG Attack The Penthouse. 8pm-1am. Free. If you thought that hi-NRG ended with ‘So Macho', then think again. Most of us wish that it had, but not Dave and Adam, who play the hottest new imports every week.
I Freeze Madisons. 10pm—4am. £3. A rave experience hosted by two local lads with a London reputation. Playing all sorts of stuff which you’ll never have heard of before, nevertheless worth a look — if only for its educational value.

A cross between state of the art Japanese technology and a good old-fashioned sing-song, this allows anyone talented enough, brave enough or, more probably, drunk enough, to get up and do a passable imitation of their favourite singer. 7.45—1 1pm. Champion DJ Paul nipsinto the Clyde studios to spin some dance tracks before heading down to his one-nighter. Featuring regular big name interviews, depending on who is visiting the city.
I The Duke Radio Forth, Sun 7—10pm. In between keeping a restraining hand on Bryan Burnett and Janice Forsyth, Allan NB Campbell presents a pot-pourri for those with their fingers on the pulse. Featuring on 13 Jan Edinburgh's Apples, plus Fred and Amanda of Wildlife, and the penultimate part of the ongoing reggae series.
