Now the only New Era nightstill running— until they suss out some more venues at any rate —- so your only chance to enjoy their mixture of indie and alternative tunes. I Earth 375 Sauchiehall Street. 1 1pm-3am. £3 (£1 .50 student). Rare and bass grooves. I assume the title means to “get down to it'. Hee hee. This replacesthe 'Rain‘ night — what is it with these Green themes? How about a PA from the Weather Girls? Watch out for drinks promos. I Funk and Die at The Choice. 1 1pm—late. £2. Funk, soul and rare groove: hence the I Joy at the Sub Club. 11pm—3.30am. £3.50. Still a strong night for dance , style and general trendiness. I Radio City at the Mayfair (Cameo Suite). 10.30pm-3am. £2. Sixties rock merging surprisingly well with 905 rave, with the odd dance record thrown in. I Rumble at Joe Paparazzi. 10pm—3.30am. £3 (£1 student). The only problem with Rumble is that it's so dark, so big and so popular that ifyou‘re hoping to see friends there you really have to arrange it well in advance. Personally, 1 wish they wouldn‘t inflict full half-hours of bleep-bleep-twiddle on us, but those cavernous green shapes the lasers throw up keep boredom at bay. I Hairy Cafe Coste. 10pm—2am. Free. A pre-club club organised by the owners of this laid-back bar, and run by DJ Carol, formerly of Spanish Harlem and Infinity. The emphasis is fixed firmly on fun, with an eclectic playlist incorporating a wide spectrum of dance sounds.
I Floral Riot Network 2. 10.30pm—48m. £2. Experience an explosion ofsonic flower grooves at Edinburgh’s busiest and best indie club. Go and 110p your fringesto the likes of Flowered Up (geddit?) and other young pretenders, plus all those old alternative faves.

I Pure The Venue. 11pm—4am. Members and guests only. No undesirables, no hassles, no admission until you complete a membership form and have a polaroid pic taken. Great idea, great club.
I Tangerine The Mission. 11pm—3am. £2. A flourishing indie club, playing a solid selection of all the stuff you‘d expect. Not so busy as F. Riot, but a viable option if you can't drag yourself all the way to Tollcross.
