I Love/Hate and Little Big Horn Network, West Tollcross, 228 3252. Oversexed, overexcited and over here! Love/Hate have only played occasionally in Britain before, but will probably be headlining arenas on their next visit. From LA, but in awe of British bands like The Beatles, the Stones, Led Zeppelin and The Who (a common enough pattern), they've got all the right qualifications for monster metal mania. And they‘re ‘the stoopidest band in the world’, to boot.

Forget the ropey ducts of recent months, forget the sub-gothic-metal preoccupation of recent years — when I ggy takes to the stage with all his reptilian charm and charisma there are few who can touch him. His last show in Scotland combined the best of the new with the greatest of the old and was a talking point for months afterwards. A couple of years older, probably none the wiser, but every bit as hungry as before — that’s Iggy bythe way, not me.
