Trolley Reflections. Cumbernauld. 7pm. £1. Indie stalwarts The Salt Cellar have been keeping an excessively low profile of late. so now is the time to discover whether their sabbatical has given them any fresh ideas. Realm of the Shopping Trolley have as curious a line-up astheir name suggests— ‘sources‘ claim they comprise a studenty singer. an HM drummer, an all-American boy guitarist and a gothic-type backing singer. Plus the Demo Disco. organized in conjunction with Noise Box.

I The BMX Bandits Videodrome. 33—39 York Street. 221 0441. 10pm. £3. Further pre-adolescent dribblings from the band
with the Peter Pan syndrome. However. even if BMX Bandits never manage to stretch their sticky fingers in the same pie as ex-Bandit Norman‘s Teenage Fanclub. they‘ll still be the kookiest and sexiest band in Bellshill. Eugene Vaseline DJs tonight.
I The Light and The Vindicators King Tut‘s Wah Wah llut. 272a St Vincent Street. 221 5279. 1()pm. £3. The Light and Burn One Records in general look set to benefit handsomely (and deservedly) from the Renfrew Ferry showcase gig at New Music World. With a bit of a distribution boost. I Excalibur Studio 55. Bruce 1 lotel. Cornwall Street. East Kilbride. 035 522 9771. 8pm. £2. Part ofa dying breed of ‘good honest rock bands' sticking like Araldite to the values of mid-70s AOR.l think they‘re preaching to an extinct market. but recent exposure as support to Saxon may well prove me wrong.

I Prong and Mind Over Four Venue. Calton Road. 557 3073. Prong proved on this very stage last year that when it comesto heaviness there are few weightier bands. Their cover version of Chrome‘s ‘Third from the Sun‘ is still one of their finest moments.
I The Last Minute Globe. West Port. 229 4553. 9pm. Free. Runners-up in 1989‘s List/McEwans Lager demo tape competition. The Last Minute have very definite shades of Merseybeat supplied by their harmonica. and a latent funkiness that could be developed further.
