Attention all aspiring tashlon designers, dressers, and models lrom 5—18 years. BIG NOISE (responsible lor young people’s events during Glasgow l990) are organising something tailor-made tor you - your own tashlon show. On Saturday 24 March at the Mitchell Theatre, top names lrom the
fashion world -The Warehouse, Vidal Sassoon hairdressing and one at London’s ace designers, John Richmond -will be on hand to listen to your ideas and give expert advice on all aspects ol staging a tashlon show, trom the llrst basic steps in clothes design, co-ordinating accessories and hair designs to how to strut the catwalk. Come along, meet other enthusiasts, see the slide presentations and pick up some advice and information even it you don’t see yoursell as Glasgow's answer to Jerry itall or Jasper Gonran. You never know, you might just lind yoursell as part at the team who will present a spectacular tashlon show at the end oi the year. Children of all ages (inc teens) are invited to celebrate the launch of The Young Person '3 Guide to Saving the Planet (Virago £2.99). 3-10 yrs The children’s department will be cleared and an 8ft x 12ft collage with a rainforest theme will be made by the children. Waterstone's will supply most of the materials, glue, brushes etc, but children are asked to bring any bits and pieces they have. 10-16 yrs Ecology quiz. The quiz has been sent to mailing list customers and schools, but children must come to the shop to look at the main window display - a map on which the clues will be hidden. There will be a Greenpeace information stall with freebie stickers and badges.
