A few months on and now complete, the piece will hopefully have more impact than the pleasant, but unremarkable first reading. He is joined here by Kevin McAleer who has developed a character claiming to be Ireland‘s last great oral historian and who promises an eclectic run-through of traditional culture from Yeats to Gary Glitter. Playwright Liz Lochhead and director Gerry Mulgrew explore the boundaries of cliche and archetype in Communicado‘s devised celebration of the Scottish nation. Taking place at ‘the last Burns‘s Supper‘, the show brings together 24 actors and musicians in the first major theatrical production of 1990.
