NIGHTLIFE LIST
THE HYPE
At the Tuxedo Princess, Anderston Guay. See Listings.
In February of this year The Hype presented an exclusive to Scotland by persuading Katharine Hamnett and Vidal Sassoon to do their first shows in a nightclub outside of London. This one-off proved highly successful, managing to pull in a capacity crowd of over 850 at Henry Afrikas. This obviously impressed the main men at Pepsi, as the Hype are now launching themselves on a regular basis at the Tuxedo Princess with their considerable financial backing.
The premiere will take place on 10 September and the successful combination of fashion and hair presentation will be repeated, with John Gillespie from Perth doing the honours this time. The week afterwill see a live performance by BE-AL, the first of many live bands performing at the Hype in the coming months.
The Hype may appearto have an elite nature, but the man responsible, Jazz, wants to attract a cosmopolitan crowd who can relax and simply have a good time dancing. This shouldn’t be too
