Goldberg is unutterably splendid as the protaganist. the film beung the story of her awakening from female servitude and realising her potential as an independent woman. US. 1988) Robby Benson. Tawny Kitaen. Danny Aiello. 93 mins. Gangland New York. and the naive Scott (Benson) is hustled into looking after his friends crack business while the latter is in hiding from the drug barons. Soon however. the clean-cut Scott and his clean-cut girlfriend Vanessa (Kitaen). are descending into the pit of addiction and degeneracy. Unconvincing anti-crack melodrama. with new-fangled narcotics decorating distinctly old-fashioned plotting and characterisation. Bull Durham (15) (Ron Shelton, US, 1988) Kevin Costner, Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins. 108 mins. Forwhat is ostensibly another contender in the veritable league of baseball movies that is poised to descend on our shores, this is thankfully as much preoccupied with the games that lovers play as it is with that other American pastime involving a ball and bat.
Annie Savoy (Sarandon) is a dedicated baseball groupie with a lilelong devotion to the Durham Bulls. Every Spring. she chooses a new player as her protege. The luclry man is gifted with the wisdom of her mind and the pleasures other body. This year the choice is between ageing catcher and gentlemen player Crash Davis (Costner) and dumb newcomer Ebby La Loosh (Robbins) a pitcher with live cents oi brain and a million dollar arm.
She selects La Loosh and an understandably surprised Crash stands on the sidelines as he heads lorthe big time and Annie lives to regret her decision.

Under Fire, this is a smart, sassy and lusty entertainment that is highly recommended and leatures a locker room of good performances. The story of Dian Fossey. an American naturalist who went to central Africa in 1966 with no experience. yetwho over the next two decades was to devote her life to the pioneering study ofthe mountain gorilla. and became ruthlessly determined to protect the species from the unwelcome attention of poachers. However. her uncompromising attitudes to the welfare of the gorillas made her many enemies. and her murder in 1985 has still not been adequately explained. The third and supposedly final instalment of Spielberg‘s bumper blockbuster series. in which the archaeological adventurer is joined by his father (Connery) for a romp through the Middle East in search of the Holy Grail. hotly pursued (as ever) by the Nazis.
