Cooper and Galloway at 44 London Street. The creative and lruittul partnership oi Leila Galloway and Tony Cooper has resulted in both the recent renovation at their London Street workshop/gallery space and the emergence of new work which shares an interest in the influence or archetypes and the translation of symbol into form. This is expressed in Galloway’s wire and paper sculpture and Cooper's energetic image-making using paper, varnish, oil and bitumen. Galloway’s work expresses a tension 01 opposites which rely on the enigma of femininity iortheir emergence. Through the use of material —wire as
collection of jewellery from 50 contemporary British and European jewellers returns to its regular fringe venue. Over 1000 pieces on sale including free standing sculpture. wall hangings and a range ofedible bodywear.

Spanish Design Until Sat 2 Sept. A surge of innovative designers have recently focused the spotlight on Spain as a centre
strength and delence, paper as transience and lragile enclosure — sculpture which has as its relerence the translation of biological structure into the intangible, holistic essence ol lemale sexuality becomes the visual expression at a dynamic process.
Cooper’s graphic works displayed in the controlled light of the downstairs space involve an almost mathematical but intuitive approach in their creation. Analagous to abstract representations oi the masculine unconscious, the stained textural quality at his material reveals images of destruction and restoration, darkness and light which question any fixed notion of male power.
