SUNDAY 25 Glasgow
I The Big Dish. Love and Money and The McClusltey Brothers The Pavilion. 121 Renfield Street. 332 1846. 7.30pm. Major Anti Poll Tax gig ofthe month. with very little chance of tickets being left by the time of publication. given the pulling power of each of the acts. Much to recommend it though: the first Big Dish gig since they signed to WIiA. and Love and Money‘s first (ilasgow appearance this year. Should be brilliant.
I Spacemen 3 Mayfair. 490 Sauchiehall Street. 332 3872. 9pm. Another busy night. and a return appearance for the Spacemen Three. preceding the release of their IiP on Fire Records. which is scheduled for 3.1uly.
I Fish Turn Human. Paris Match andJust Add Water Fury Murrys. 96 Maxwell Street. 221 651 l . 7.30pm. Combination of talent from Newcastle. (ilasgow and Edinburgh respectively. Fish Turn lluman are responsible for the tremendous demo ‘Soul Pollution' while Just Add Water and Paris Match are both pleasantly commercial pop bands.
I The Great Leap Forward Rooftops. ()2 Sauchiehall Street. 332 5883. 10pm. One of the more underrated exponents of ‘The Sound of Young Manchester'.
I The Rain Angels and Indian Summer'l‘he Videodrome. 33 9 York Street. 221 0441. 9pm. The Rain Angels are one ofthe relatively rare species ofguitar bands. and this is their first gig in (ilasgow. Wortha look.

Edinburgh
I Sonny Curtis and Kelvin Henderson Old St Paul‘s I Iall. Jeffrey Street. 8pm. £5 (£4). Second appearance in the city as a solo artist for the former member of Buddy Ilolly's Crickets. Younger folks will probably know him best for the song‘l Fought the Law". but his songs have been covered by more people than you can shake a mike-stand at. Don't miss. Supporting Curtis is the West Country singer guitarist Kelvin Henderson.
I Napalm Death and SOB Moshpit. Venue. Calton Road. 557 3073. 730-] lpm. Back not long after their last sold out gig here. It'll be fun to see the moshers queueing up in an orderly fashion for their turn to stage-dive.

Edinburgh
I Throwing Muses and Band olSusans Queen's I lall. South Clerk Street.668 2019. 7.30pm. £6.50. Kristinllersh's stream-of-consciousness mewling can drive some folk up the wall and deliver others to the gates ofenlightened wisdom. ()r if neither of those alternatives suits you. just settle back and let the Muses' out-of-kilter rock remind you just why they've been hailed as one of the most inventive bands in the States. Band of Susans kick up one impressive riot ofa noise. though maybe a little much for ears more delicately attuned to the Muses.
I The McCluslrey Brothers and The Wild River Apples Venue. Calton Road. 557 3073. A welcome reappearance in the Capital for two of (ilasgow's most worthwhile acts. The McCIUskeys‘ songs have a way of making friends with first-time listeners. They should be more widely-known than they are. The Venue will most likely be filled up with punters curious to see the Apples after the stir they've been making. And yes. singer Gwen does indeed have a fine voice.
