Reflecting all aspects ofchildren’s play— past, present and future. The exhibition will show playthings from the 1 8th century to the present day. A VIP section will include playthings lent by members of the Royal
Family, politicians and foreign statesmen. Admission: Adults £1, Children 25p, to raise money for the Save the Children Fund.
Until S September LACQUER WORK FROM PALEKH
Lacquered enamel work painted on miniature boxes, jewel cases, caskets and brooches which include scenes from Russian folk life, legends, history and literature. They are exquisitely painted and evoke a magical lost world.
This is the first major exhibition ofthis material to be staged in the UK contributing to the Russian theme ofthe I 987 Edinburgh Festival. Admission Free.
